Thanksgiving Turkey Card
I'm participating with several bloggers in a monthly challenge. Each
month we make something with a theme and this month the challenge was to make something with a turkey. I decided to make a Thanksgiving card inspired by this pin. This Thanksgiving turkey card is fun to make (I love those crazy googly eyes!) and easy enough for kids to do. Here's what you'll need to make your own Thanksgiving turkey card:
materials:
scrapbook paper
scissors
glue
card stock
googly eyes
Cut two circles from brown scrapbook paper. The larger circle is for the body and the smaller circle is for the head. Cut strips of paper that are 1/2 inch wide and 7 inches long. These will be the turkey's feathers. I used nine of them.
To make the feathers, fold each strip in half. Now unfold the strip. See the crease you made by folding the strip in half? Use that crease as a reference to fold the strip again, but this time at a 90 degree angle. Fold the other side of the strip at a 90 degree angle as well.
Fold a piece of card stock in half to make the card. Position the two circles and the folded strips on the front of the card to get them exactly where you want them before you start gluing.
Once I had the head, body, and feathers glued down, I glued on some eyes, a little orange triangle for a beak and the text for the card.
I printed the text, cut it out, and glued it to the inside of the card. One of these days I'm going to figure out how to print directly on the card. (I can get it to print, but I can't get it centered.)
