Caramel Apple Nachos

I love caramel apples, so I knew I would love these caramel apple nachos. Originally I thought I would use homemade caramel, but I just melted some store bought caramels, which worked just fine. I also thought caramel apple nachos might be a little easier and less messy to eat than traditional caramel apples. Nope. They were still pretty messy with all that ooey gooey caramel, but that's part of the fun of eating caramel apples, right?
Caramel apple nachos are delicious and a whole lot of fun to eat! However, it's not a recipe you want to make ahead of time. The apples will turn brown quickly and you really want to enjoy that caramel while its still warm and gooey!
The original recipe uses melted white chocolate and pieces of Heath candy, but add whatever you like on your caramel apples. I used chopped peanuts which were yummy! Other toppings could be crushed salty pretzels, your favorite nuts or candy. (I'm thinking M&M's would be good.) What would you put on your caramel apple nachos?
Yield: 2 servings
Caramel Apple Nachos
With warm gooey caramel and crisp crunchy apples, these caramel apple nachos are a whole lot of fun to eat! Have fun getting creative with your toppings too like white chocolate, crushed salty pretzels, or your favorite nuts or candy.

ReplyDeleteReally popular post, I'd love to eat some of those and while my hubs isn't much a caramel apple lover he'd go for the choc chips and peanuts on them. I'd so love to have some but due to doggoned health problem all my bottom teeth are gone, can't eat so many healthy foods as well as fun foods. I'll show this to my daughter, she'd like something like this to offer her kids/friends. Great post, love it even if I can't eat any of it. I'll just drool in private. Happy week
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie, I wanted to let you know that I'm featuring these over at the Retro Re-pin party today over on Sustaining the Powers. (Tue 8pmET-Thur 8pm ET) I made them on Saturday night with some leftover Halloween candy and they were AWESOME. I'm pretty sure it's our new go-to snack. Thanks for sharing them with the party!
ReplyDeleteI can see my husband putting these away while complaining that I feed him too much! It's pretty funny - he complains when I make "treats" and says I'll make him fat, but then he eats them anyway. =p
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea! Thank you for linking up to the Bloggers Brags Pinterest Party. I have pinned your post to the Bloggers Brags Pinterest Board.
ReplyDeleteThank so much for linking up to the Say G'day Saturday Party. This looks so delicious!
ReplyDeleteI've pinned this to the Say G'day board!
Best wishes,
Natasha in Oz
I love this idea because there really is just no easy or elegant way to eat a whole caramel apple. Featuring when my link party opens up tonight.
ReplyDeleteI thought these would be less messy than a caramel apple, but I was wrong! Still fun to eat though and so good! Thanks so much for the feature at your party!
DeleteThis is a perfect exchange instead of a caramel apple, there's never caramel to apple ratio. Looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up with Creative Style Linkup! Have a blessed weekend!
These nachos are great! They are such a fun idea and look incredibly delicious too. I saw this over on the Wednesday Roundup and I would love to invite you to share this (and anything else you'd like!) over on the Pure Blog Love link party at http://picnicnz.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteLOVE that it's in slices. That way you can get all the caramel and chocolate in every bite instead of just the surface. Thanks for linking up to Show Me Saturday!
ReplyDeleteoh apples and caramel... my favorite!! thanks for linking up to the Create LInk Inspire party. You are being featured today on Nap-Time Creations in some great fall food!! Check it out! Emily
ReplyDeleteThat's a great twist on a healthy snack. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI have a small amount of tinned caramel sauce in the fridge left over form something else and green apples. I am going to throw something similar to this together right now and enjoy it with my cup of tea, I am thinking this could easily turn into my new favourite snack!
ReplyDeleteI love these... I've been making them for years, yours are so much prettier... One way to keep apples fresh is to add a couple tablespoons of fresh lemon juice to a glass container, add sliced apples, seal the container and shake up coating the apples with the lemon juice, then refrigerate until your ready to use... this will help keep your apples from turning brown... I've cut up my apples a day in advance... then put it all together right before serving. Saves some time if your prepping for a large party, no more pealing the apples at the last moment =0)
ReplyDeleteGreat tip! I'll definitely try it the next time I make these.
DeleteWow! that looks so good.
ReplyDeleteFound you on the retro repin.
This is a much easier way to eat caramel apples!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing on Tasty Tuesdays. Hope to see you back next week.

ReplyDeleteI think I'll try swapping out chocolate pieces with toffee pieces..num!
ReplyDeleteMade these for my daughters slumber party they were a big hit. I used crushed oreos and leftover Halloween candy bars crushed and warmed carmel dipping sauce and walnuts.
ReplyDeleteMade there last night with my boyfriend and they were awesome..
