Father's Day Origami Shirt Cards
Father's day will be here soon. Is it just me, or are dads sometimes hard to shop for? A new shirt is a traditional Father's Day gift, but that can be boring and predictable for dad. You can still give him a shirt, but make it fun with these easy Father's Day origami shirt cards!
The dads I know would much rather have a gift certificate to their
favorite store or restaurant instead of a new shirt. So this year, I'm putting that gift card
in one of these easy to make Father's Day cards.
They are really fun and easy to make!
They are really fun and easy to make!
Start with a piece of 8.5 by 3.75 inch paper. I used paper that is a different color on the back so you can see the folds a little easier, but you can use any paper that folds easily.
Fold the paper in half and open to reveal the crease.
Fold the paper in toward the crease.
Do the same thing on the other side.
Open the paper to show the crease lines.
There should be four equal sections.
Fold the corners in at the very bottom.
Make sure that the edges of the triangles line up with the fold lines.
Fold the bottom up.
Unfold the bottom fold you just made.
Pinch the sides and the bottom of the paper together.
Fold the sides of the paper in to the center fold and at the same time, fold the bottom up.
Then fold down the top quarter inch.
Fold the top corners in about 45 degrees.
Bring the bottom of the paper up, fold, and tuck up under the collar.
You just made a shirt!
You just made a shirt!
Now add a strip of paper for a tie!
Wasn't that easy?
I hope you have fun making these origami shirts.
I sure did!
Here's the handy-dandy cheat sheet!
