Monument Valley
This week, I've been sharing pictures from my vacation. Earlier, I shared pictures from my visit to Arches and Zion National Park in Utah. The last stop on our week long road trip was Monument Valley. We took a detour along the way to visit the north rim of the Grand Canyon in Arizona. I was surprised to see a small herd of buffalo by the road and it reminded me of Yellowstone.

Then it was on to Monument Valley.
We had a great view from our hotel balcony.

Sunrise was spectacular!
Monument Valley was simply beautiful.
Stunning landscapes in every direction!

Even though there were gorgeous vistas all around me, I couldn't help but notice this cairn someone had made. I stopped to take a picture and this lizard hiding under the rock pile surprised me!
It was a fun trip full long days of driving and hiking, but absolutely worth it for the beautiful beautiful scenery. It gave me a chance to practice some landscape photography which I don't have much experience with. A friend let me borrow his wide angle lens for my camera, and it was really helpful. If you're interested, you can see more pictures from this trip.
