Blue Birds In A Jar

Blue Birds In A Jar
blue birds in a jar

These bluebirds in a jar just make me happy!  It captures spring time in a jar doesn't it?

You will need:
moss or raffia
a jar
a stick
two birds
a piece of fabric
a ribbon

Fill the bottom of the jar with floral moss, grass, or raffia.

Cut the stick so that if fits in the jar.  If you cut it to fit just right, you won't need any glue.

Wire the birds onto the stick and cut off any excess wire.

Place the stick in the jar.

With pinking shears, cut out a circle of fabric slightly bigger than the jar lid.  Place the lid on the jar and add a pretty ribbon.

  4. How sweet! I just adore these two little cuties perched in their mason jar. I have so many jars but I don't have any lids - I will have to put them on my shopping list so I can make one of these cute jars too. I am a Pinterest junkie too.

  5. Oh how cute. My senior mom has not been able to get outside too much this year to enjoy her birds. I may have to give this a try for her. Thanks for the fun idea via Anything Blue Friday.

I'm so glad we have a bathroom window. That was one thing that helped sell me on this place, it had 2 full bathrooms and ours has a window in bathroom. The guest bath has a sky light which is better than nothing. Happy Spring days

  18. Very cute!! I love how you have them perched on a twig....clever! I just made a similar jar with moss and a birds nest inside. I put a vintage doily over the top and clipped a butterfly to it. So Springy!
