Spooky Little Girl by Laurie Notaro

Lucy Fisher is having a bad week.  Her Hawaiian vacation didn't turn out quite as she had imagined.  Upon returning home, she finds out that her fiance has unceremoniously kicked her out of their house with no explanation at all and she gets fired from her job.  Lucy didn't see any of this coming and she certainly wasn't planning on getting hit by a bus.  Her quick departure from life causes her to be stuck as a ghost in between the worlds of the living and the dead.  And she has some unfinished business to take care of. 

Laurie Notaro is most well known for her humorous essays and Spooky Little Girl is her first novel.  Laurie Notaro is funny and her voice as well as her sense of humor are evident in this work of fiction.  This is a light-hearted book with a predictable but enjoyable plot which makes for some fun, light reading.
