My 5K Challenge #2



I procrastinated long enough and finally renewed my gym membership.  Sigh.  Not sure if that was money well spent.  I used to like going to step aerobics, but apparently that's not a popular class anymore and it's only offered one day a week.  I went to a Zumba class instead and that was a disaster.  I've said before that I'm no Martha Stewart.  Well it turns out, I'm no Shakira either.  My hips don't move that way.  Plus I'm so uncoordinated!  I just can't do any of  the steps.  I try to get my feet to follow along and my arms are off.  I try to get my arms to follow along and me feet are lost.  It doesn't help that I have two left feet anyway.  So no more Zumba classes for me.

I went to the step aerobics class this week.  I'm certainly out of practice and my calves hurt like crazy for a few days afterward!  I also started using my elliptical again, although I first had to remove a thick layer of dust.  I went for a two mile hike over the weekend, too.

Getting started on a big goal like this is always the hardest part for me.  I've been inactive for such a long time.  Right now, I'm just trying to go from not being active at all to getting up and moving.  I'm taking baby steps at the beginning.  Next week I start my interval training!
