Easy to Make Folded Paper Flowers

Folded Paper Flowers

This idea came from this pin  on  my paper craft Pinterest board.  This would be a really cute party decoration for a birthday or baby shower.  You could use any color paper you wanted to match your theme.  I didn't have a party, I just made this for fun.  It's so happy and cheerful!

Materials
paper
scissors
glue stick
wooden skewers
buttons
glue gun
floral foam
florist moss or grass (green raffia would work too)
a container

Directions
1.  Cut strips of paper and accordion fold them.  I cut 1 inch, 2 inch, and 3 inch wide strips.  You'll need different sizes for the different parts of the flower.  The 3 inch wide strips will make a wide circle for the flower.  The 1 inch wide strips will make a small circle for the center of the flower.

2.  Use a glue stick to glue two strips of folder paper together.  Glue both ends to make a folded circle.

3.  Push the circles down so they lay flat and glue the center together with a glue gun.  This can be a bit tricky because the folded paper wants to pop up.  Don't worry about making the back look nice and go ahead and use a big blob of glue to make it hold together.

4.  Glue one large and one small folded paper disk together.  Glue a button in the center.

5.  Glue a wooden skewer on the back.

6.  I used the same pattern for the leaves that I used for the felt flowers I made recently.  (Go here for the leaf pattern)  Cut out the leaves.  Poke a hole in the center of the leaf and poke the wooden skewer through.  Continue making several flowers for your arrangement.

7.  Place florist foam in a container.  Poke the flowers into the foam.  Cover the foam with florist moss, grass or raffia.  In no time at all you'll have a happy and cheerful flower arrangement!
