Happy Hour #5: Dirty Girl Scout

The past few weeks, I've been stuck in a pink cocktail rut, so this week I decided to try something different. 

Kristine at Heart Shaped Sweat left a such a sweet comment saying that she's inspired by the recipes, projects, crafts and especially  the cocktails each Friday.  Thanks Kristine!

I think my husband may just enjoy the Pin Junkie Happy Hour more than anybody.  When he found out this week's drink was the dirty girl scout, he was really looking forward to it and even offered to go buy creme de minth when I couldn't find it at the store.

When I saw this pin for a dirty girl scout, I immediately thought of him.  No, he's not a pervert, but he does like Girl Scout Thin Mints.  Who doesn't?  Just look at the ingredients!

I wanted to make this for his birthday, but between making the chocolate pie and insulating our attic, I just didn't get around to doing it.

Here's what you need to make it:  Kahlua, Vodka, Irish Creme (I used generic - nothing but the best in our house!) and creme de menthe.  The recipe is from This Bottle of Vodka.

•  1 shot Bailey’s Irish Cream
•  1 1/2 - 2 shots vodka
•  1 shot White Creme de Menthe
•  1 shot kahlua

 

Please do NOT make the same mistake my husband made and buy GREEN creme de menthe or your drink will look like this putrid concoction:

My reaction to both drinks was GROSS! GROSS! GROSS!  Too bitter for me.  I guess I'm just stuck with girly pink drinks.  I'm also stuck with a whole bottle of green creme de menthe.  I'm thinking next Friday we're having grasshoppers!

Oh, and my husband did like the drink.  He gave it a "not bad."  I think I'd rather have the box of girl scout cookies!
